Privacy Policy

The Great Pug (“we”) runs thegreatpug.com and its event RSVP pages. We collect only what we need to run events, and we never sell it.

What we collect

  • Discord sign-in (optional). If you choose “Continue with Discord,” Discord gives us your Discord user ID, username, display name and avatar. We do not get your email address, password, or your list of servers.
  • What you type into an RSVP. Your name, Discord name, VRChat profile link, guests’ names and VRChat profile links, the past events you checked, your avatar-performance answer, and your comments.
  • Pumpkin art (optional). An image you upload. We convert it to black and white and store it.
  • VRChat profile details. From the VRChat profile links you give us, we look up the display name and profile picture so we can invite you and show the guest list to its host.
  • Server logs. Like most websites, our server logs your IP address, the pages you request, and your browser type, for security and troubleshooting.

How we use it

  • To record your RSVP and send you (and your guests) a VRChat group invite for the event.
  • To let you sign back in and manage your RSVP, guests, comments and art.
  • To check whether you are a member of The Great Pug’s Discord server (for pumpkin art only).
  • To display submitted pumpkin art in the event world.
  • To prevent abuse, such as spam submissions.

Where it is stored and who sees it

Your data is stored on our own server, with backups in Amazon Web Services. The event organizers can see RSVPs. We share data only with the services needed to run the event: Discord (for sign-in) and VRChat (to send invites). We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Your browser stores your sign-in token and a note that you already RSVP’d in local storage on your device. Signing out removes the token.

How long we keep it

We keep RSVPs, guest entries, attendance records and art after the event, and may archive them indefinitely as a record of past events. You can ask us to delete yours at any time (see Your choices). Server logs are rotated and deleted on a regular schedule.

Your choices

  • You can RSVP without signing in with Discord.
  • You can sign out at any time, which ends every sign-in on every device.
  • You can remove your art, guests or comment yourself on “Your RSVP.”
  • You can ask us to see or delete your data by contacting us (below). You can also remove The Great Pug from Discord under User Settings → Authorized Apps.

Children

The site is not meant for anyone under 13, the minimum age for both Discord and VRChat.

If we change this policy, we will update the date above.
